He is a spot in Colorado where you can not see anything but open land in all four directions.
Pictures shot looking South.
East
North
West
There was practically no traffic east or west. I stood there for several minutes and enjoyed the silence.

Beauty in Colorado
There are a lot of beautiful places in Colorado and here are a few.
Saguache Park is a place high in the Rockies where the air is clean and the water is clear.
North Clear Creek Falls
Waterfall near Redstone, CO.
Also near Redstone.
Green Mountains.
Big Springs. There are lots of places to get lost and forget about reality. Go find it!

Lake City, CO
I spent 5 nights in Lake City, CO and got to go to a concert with Suzy Bogguss. She is a country star and it was a great concert with dinner. I got to sit in the front row. I ate ice cream too often but I did walk a lot. The elevation is 8,661 feet so the nights are cool. Got down in the 40's in July.
The town park is in the middle of town.
This is the west side of the park and downtown Lake City. You can see the soda shop in the middle and I was in there several times.
I stayed in this great cabin and walked to town numerous times a day.
The cabins were just the right size.
The shower house and laundry were right out the front door of my cabin. This picture is from my porch. Notice the mountains right behind the building.
I ate breakfast in this rustic place most mornings.
Two rivers come together in town for a beautiful view.
The deer visited our cabin area often.
The Lake City Cafe served the greatest blueberry pancakes. Nice view of the mountains, too.

Ft. Laramie, WY
On my trip in Wyoming I came across and old fort from the 1800's. At one time there were 750 troops stationed there and the Sand Creek Massacre was initiated by troops from Ft. Laramie. I have pictures of the enlisted men's quarters and the house of the officers quarters.Look up the site and learn about the U. S. Cavalry in the west. Look up at http://www.nps.gov/fola/index.htm

Snow Fence
If you wonder what these are, they are snow fences. Truck drives have said they are bleachers for tourists to watch sunsets. NOT! These are located near Muddy Gap, Wyoming.

Land in Colorado
I stopped by my place in Colorado and took a few pictures. It is very green from all the rain this year. Great to walk around my land. To the west are 9-14,000 foot peaks in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Check out the map if you don't know where it is. The Great Sand Dunes National Monument is 45 miles southeast.
This is considered green.
Along my fence line where I cleared the Chico bushes.
Storm moving in but they usually don't leave much rain until this year.

Jake Clark's Mule Days - Ralston, WY
It was a lot of fun seeing a mule obstacle course, a mule rodeo, and a mule sale over three days and a few of my old Wyoming friends. The mule that sold for the most money went for $61,000. Hard to believe. We camped at the Mule Days grounds and had a great time.
