Florida in February

It has not been a cold winter but it was time to head south and see the gulf.

I started off staying at Lake Barkley Resort in Kentucky. There was hardly anyone there and the food and service was great.

This is the view from my room, not bad!

I stopped at a nice campground in Topsail Hills State Park. Just west of Panama City and East of Destin. I got 11 nights in the same spot.

I had a campfire every morning and night fixing many meals over the fire in a cast iron skillet.

There was a lot of space between sites and lots of growth so there was hardly and sounds other than the surf.

The sand dunes were beautiful and the weather was perfect everyday other than one four hour storm.

Sunset on the beach is always beautiful.

WOW!

WOW!

People on the beach and a few in the water.

Water was colorful and many calm days.

Getting some sun, too.

A couple days had some wind.

Matt was on his way from Tampa,FL to LA, CA on his bicycle. We had a great chat.

A lot of time on the beautiful beach, with sunscreen.

It was a great trip.

  2. Thanks for reading, I am not sure how to work this feedback part but this seems to be right. I enjoy traveling as you know. I was in CO last week. I stopped at Ft. Larned in Kansas. I'll check out your site.
